Pfaff Varimatic 6091 🦄

I found this mid 90’s Pfaff Varimatic 6091 sewing machine at the thrift store for only $35! (Mine seems to have a different decal than most I see with what I've seen called a Saved by the Bell vibe.) Lately, I have been missing my machine for quick fixes and secondhand remix bags. From what I read about this model of @pfaffsewing machine, it’s described as a versatile workhorse, which should work really well for me. My sewing is eclectic, and I don't always know what I'm making when I pick up thrifted textiles or outfits to remix. I’m looking forward to getting the cover off and getting her cleaned up!

I am grateful to @sewingdocandi for her help with my Pfaff. (Thank you, Andi!) Not being familiar with them, I hadn't realized they have brand specific bobbins (Pfaff #9033P). They are on their way with a couple new bobbin cases (Pfaff #91-105544-91)! The left bobbin in the image came with it, and it was stuck in the case.

I'm working through the Remove Your Covers course as a member, so I can learn maintenance. I've also applied to become an apprentice sewing machine tech. As I service machines, I will keep a detailed portfolio of the skills I am using to document my growth (much like Isabel's homeschool portfolio). It will be interesting to learn different machines, and see how similar and different they all are.
